Concrete Floor Preparation

The Difference is Expertise

As a recognized leader in floor coatings and resurfacing, Advantage Coating has proven experience in evaluating and executing successful concrete preparation. Using both chemical and mechanical methods to avoid damage and safely prepare your floor for coating, Advantage Coating chooses the right approach to make your resurfacing a success from start to finish.

Step 1

Preparation begins with the removal of existing coatings and sealers. Advantage Coating prefers to use mechanical methods, such as the Eco-Prep sander, Scarifier or Diamond Grinder, reducing the generation of hazardous waste. These feature self-contained dust control systems to protect your employees from airborne particulates.

Step 2

Final preparation is chosen based on the coating thickness of your new floor. For coatings of less than 20 mil, Advantage Coating has proven expertise in applying an effective acid wash.

At more than 20 mils of coating thickness, acid wash is used in conjunction with shot-blasting to achieve a rough profile on the concrete.

No Harmful Solvents

With a self-contained dust control system and the lack of solvents, Grinding does not pollute the air, which means your employees and inventory are in no danger from exposure, and in addition to reducing your liability, it significantly reduces the cost of floor preparation.

No Damage to Concrete Floors

Eco-Prep will not damage the concrete and provides a like-new surface ready for coating.
